One of the first RM crushers – an RM 50 – made its way to Switzerland some 25 years ago. Today, 150 RM machines in total are in operation for Swiss customers. Five years ago the success of the RM crushers led to the foundation of RUBBLE MASTER SCHWEIZ AG. And the success continues. In 2016 the team moved to new premises in Hasle bei Burgdorf in the canton of Bern. An extensive rental fleet, support with financing and their own RM spare and wear parts warehouse together with their own RM service workshop now offer customers even faster and broader service.
This success story was celebrated on 27-28 October as part of the Open Days and a customer and supplier event with over 300 guests. “We started five years ago with just two people. There are now six of us looking after RM customers in Switzerland,” says Peter Schärer, managing director of RUBBLE MASTER SCHWEIZ AG.
Numerous customers and other interested guests received a warm welcome from the team at the new RM premises in Switzerland. Visitors enjoyed the highlights which included the presentation of the RM 120GO! with MS125GO!. Customers were able to see how convincing the efficiency and performance of the RM crushers and screens are in a live demonstration of the RM 100GO! together with the RM HS5000M screen.
The subsequent anniversary celebration with the RM employees from Switzerland and Linz plus the customers also featured a number of highlights. With the “Sunntigs-Zwaschple” yodellers and the “Bouele-Musig” brass band, some hearty food and a performance by Flugo, who carved a motorbike from a block of wood as a present for Peter Schärer, not only the past five years but also the future was celebrated.
RUBBLE MASTER welcomed our dealers’ Product and Service Champions at the RM Headquarters in Linz at the end of September.These experts pooled their product and market knowledge together with the RM specialists to discuss the current situation and work on the innovations which will also be required in the future.Around 60 guests from 30 countries took part in the programme.The guests exchanged news and views in the course of a demonstration, presentations and workshops.The weekend was rounded off with the exciting RM Kart Trophy.
The guests were delighted about the wealth of information and the opportunity to be involved in further developments regarding environmental matters or increasing efficiency and to exchange information with other international sales partners. “The chemistry is positive between us and the RM employees. Gatherings such as the PC & SC meeting are great, things work better when you know the people personally,” says an enthusiastic Richard Nett, Service Manager at Kölsch in Germany.
Insights into new technical developments at RM product demo
Processing technology, new types of smart services and the USPs of the RM crushers were just some of the topics presented at the product demo at the quarry of the Bernegger company. The active pre-screen, which separates fine and ultrafine particles from coarse input material was shown live in action here for the first time on the RM 120GO!. The new development primarily serves to reduce wear and operating costs.
The company also presented the RM wind sifter on an RM 100GO! for the separation of mineral and non-mineral input material. Not only the dealers’ employees but also the participants from Bernegger were extremely impressed by the end quality in the recycling process.
Guests also had the opportunity to see the benefits of the new RM GO! SMART service tool. The announcement that manufacturer-built RM scales on the discharge belt and screened material belt will be available from the beginning of 2018 generated a lot of interest. This weighing technology complements the RM GO! SMART and will be fully integrated in the new service tool. While the RM 100GO! was in operation with the MS105GO! the guests were able to monitor important data such as the throughput of the main discharge belt and screened material belt, plus engine capacity, engine speed, diesel filling level and consumption in real time on smartphones or tablets. They were then also able to call up this data in the history in the form of KPI charts without requiring an internet connection.
Sales partners also emphasise the strong focus on innovation again and again. Pascal Gosslin, Sales Manager at Voghel in Canada, confirms: “We have been partners of RM for 14 years now. Continual product innovations have made us the market leader. Innovation and partnership are the two keys to success.”
RM Xperts Xchange – professional exchange
Besides the demonstrations of the current new developments, the Product and Service Champions together with the RM employees also looked into the topics of the future in workshops.
“We are very grateful for the huge input of our dealers. Due to the multitude of different markets it is essential for us to get feedback from our dealers about the developments and requirements of the customers in the individual countries,” explains Gerald Hanisch, CEO at RUBBLE MASTER.
Teambuilding on the racetrack
As regular exchanges can only work in a team, however, there was no shortage of fun either. And this is why the outdoor area of the RM headquarters was once again transformed into a kart track where the dealers together with the employees and network partners put their racing skills to the test in teams of three.
Around 60 suppliers from the whole of Europe visited the RM headquarters in Linz/Pichling for the second RM Suppliers’ Day. A motivating day packed with interesting activities was rounded off by the RM Summer Opening which was celebrated together with employees and network partners in keeping with the motto: “RM Family – being a part of it is part of it”.
The Suppliers’ Day began with an opportunity for visitors to see the RM 100GO! Compact Crusher in operation at the company Mitter. This was just the beginning of what was to be an exciting day with the RM Family for the roughly 60 European suppliers.
The main question at the beginning of the afternoon session was: “What is new in the world of RUBBLE MASTER?” The focus here was on growth strategies and new opportunities through the RM GO! SMART app. All participants then had the opportunity to discuss a variety of interesting topics – such as digitalisation, customer relationships and supplier involvement – in five workshop teams.
The highlight of the day came with the RM Summer Opening. From 6 p.m. the suppliers gathered together with employees and network partners at the RM headquarters. All in all over 250 guests celebrated another year of successful business and close collaboration.
Two DJs with house and disco music, exotic cocktails and food from the grill made it a perfect summer party atmosphere. The party continued into the early hours in familiar RM style and even the rain didn’t dampen spirits.

RUBBLE MASTER was invited by the Department of Environmental Affairs of South Africa to be part of the construction and demolition waste recycling workshop to contribute the company’s know how about recycling in connection with environmental issues. As the Area Sales Manager of the only actively invited crushing manufacturer, Christian Windhager talked about the advantages recycling has for the environment.
C&D waste remains a significant contributor to landfill airspace consumption and accounts for up to 20 % of general waste in South Africa. Nevertheless, until now there were not any norms available, which means that the recycling company had no guidelines to refer to about how material has to be processed, which material is allowed to be recycled and which has to be disposed of. Due to these uncertainties, the recycling rate remains very low. By establishing specific guidelines and clarifying the companies’ questions, they should be encouraged to increase the recycling rate and minimize the waste deposited.
888CSE Chairman Henry Neville decided to go into partnership with RM and contacted the RM Sales Manager, Shaun Montgomery. Impressed with the cost-effective efficiency, the versatile applications and the relevance for the environment, Henry Neville soon established that there was nothing to stop them going ahead.
The first RM 100GO! was ordered shortly after their first meeting and has since arrived in Australia. Other orders have already been placed and the new Sales Manager on the east coast is looking forward to their arrival.
